Well, Class 1 is over and I'm well into Class 2 (Psychology of Body Mechanics). I guess I haven't been updating my progress as nearly as often as I thought I would. I guess it is what it is. So here it is:

All Hail Panocamera!
So my dear friend and super-genius Steve Chapman , who is now a collaborator at the great website HDRLabs, created a very cool DSLR Camera Controller interface using a Nintendo DS. It's truly amazing. It can set exposures time, control image bracketing (for shooting HDRs), control time-lapse photos, and the list goes on and on! Now I just hope to someday have the time to actually use the thing! I hope they don't mind but I hijacked the photo :(

Animation Mentor Class 1 - Week 2 - Complete

This weeks assignment seemed to be mostly based on observation. We were ordered to draw people in various stages of doing stuff, and stuff is used loosely... After completing a bunch of sketches we were to try and mimic and improve upon (make more visually appealing) said pose using the Stu character provided by AM. I love fencing and miss it dearly, as I have not been in a year now... very depressing. With that it mind and knowing how dynamic some of the positions related to Fencing can be I chose to pose Stu doing an Epee lunge. I haven't received my mentor critique yet buy I think it's pretty good!

Disregard all previous posts...
Please disregard all previous posts on this blog. I have turned into a lazy fat slob. On a lighter note (lighter... get it?), I have started my first class at Animation Mentor. I got to meet everyone from my class tonight including my mentor Hyrum Osmond (yes he's related). It is very exciting and I really look forward to doing some animating.
Army of Two Commercial
Tina recently found an article about a commercial I worked on while at Zoic. Check it out, all done in Maya and Mental Ray. I did modeling, texturing and shading on the car. http://www.cgnews.com/2010/01/zoic-brings-adrenaline-to-army-of-two-spot/

First, but not the last.
Well my first triathlon is complete, and it was a blast! I finished the whole race with a time of 02:01:35.5 Not bad, just a little over a minute and a half off my goal. Other great news is that I was the 7th highest fundraiser on the Walt Disney TriTeam!! I raised $2960 for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation!! Good job to all that donated and thank you very much for all the support. Thank You!! Another huge thanks to my lovely wife Tina, for all her support and help in getting me donations, motivation, my blog, etc. etc. I would of had a hard time doing it all without her! She also collected all the pictures from the race and put them together on our fancy website she designed! Thanks again everybody, can't wait to do it again next year! (Don't worry I'm already running and training hard!)

I've been working really hard for this and I thank you all for your support. It means a lot to me that you are all helping me support this cause. For those of that have yet to donate, better hurry, you won't want to miss the donor's luncheon we'll be throwing in thanks to our friends and family who helped support!
